Apple’s New M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max Chip for MacBook Pro Review

Everyone knows about Apple and its iconic products. They were one of the few companies to set the “modern-day standards” for developing smartphones and computers after providing users with a fast and intuitive user experience on all its operating systems.

Even though their gadgets & devices may start at a slightly higher price, buying an iPhone, Mac, or any other Apple device is a good investment for its users worldwide. This is why for years, the silicon valley company has maintained its spot as the number one smartphone brand in the world. In addition to that, they are also well known for the top security on their devices, especially their mobile phones.

Apple computers, iMac or MacBooks as they are officially known, have also gained popularity in the computing world. They are mostly suggested to computer programmersgraphic designers, and other professionals because of their processing speed and convenience of use.

Apple is well-known for its MacBooks, MacBook Pro & Air laptops, and the iMac desktop PCs. A few months ago, Apple officially released a new version of their MacBook Pro. It comes with even better performance and other features.

Apple M1 Chip MacBook features

In the wake of this new release, Apple also launched their new processor chips, the M1, M1 Pro, and M1 Max. This new chip is the most powerful chip Apple has created so far. During its announcement, Apple called this a “System on a chip”. This is because the M1 chips integrate a lot of components, including the CPU, GPU, RAM, Neural Engine, Secure Enclave, SSD controller, image processor, and more, all of which power the various features on the MacBook.

Before its launch, MacBooks used to have different chips for the CPU, I/O, security, etc. The M1 integrates all of these components on a single chip, making it is faster and more efficient than other chips the iMac & MacBooks was using.

The new MacBook Pro is available in three sizes: 13-inches, 14-inches, and 16-inches, with an M1 chip, integrated into each of them. The only difference is that the 14-inches and 16-inches have a slightly upgraded M1 chip, the M1 Pro chip, or the M1 Max chip.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro promises an 8-core CPU with 8 GPUs, whereas the others offer a 10-core CPU with up to 32 GPUs. In terms of storage, the 13-inch comes with a maximum of 2TB, whereas the others come with a maximum of 8TB. Both of them come with a Touch ID, with the 13-inches Mac having an extra feature being the touch bar.

The GPU in M1 is the most advanced Apple has ever created and the world’s fastest integrated graphics in a personal computer.

The 13-inch MacBook pro starts at 9,600 Ghana Cedis, whiles the 14 and 16 inches starts at 14,700 cedis. Though slightly costly, they are completely worth the price with the improved features and speed. This is a personal recommendation primarily to all Ghanaian software developers, and graphic designers.
